(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 02, 2009 ) GALICE, ORE. – On October 4th, Galice Resort will host a night of Rogue River stories, movies, and food. Attending the event are Bob, Glen Jr., and Grant Woolridge, who make-up three generations of Rogue River history and will be accompanied by Noah’s Fishing and Rafting Trips of Ashland, Oregon, as well as Fox Sports Northwest.
Glen Woolridge first ran the Rogue River in 1915 and continued doing so until the 1980s. In 1947, Glen became the first person to successfully travel up the Rogue from Gold Beach, Oregon, to Grants Pass, Oregon. Glen was one of few early early pioneers who helped shape the future of river-running on the Rogue River by making the Lower Rogue Canyon navigable.
Stories begin at 5:00 PM on the Galice Resort deck overlooking the Rogue River and will be followed by a 7:00 PM movie with footage of the Rogue River in the 1940s. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to make reservations with Galice Resort by calling (541) 476-3818.
Just a half hour outside of Grants Pass, Galice Resort is located at 11744 Galice Road, Merlin, Oregon. The resort offers various lodging and rafting options as well as a restaurant and bar alongside the Rogue River. For additional information about Galice Resort, please visit http://www.Galice.com.
