(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, May 27, 2019 ) On April 6, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) held the DEBUT Runway Show at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA. DEBUT features the work of graduating students in the Fashion Design and Theatre Costume Design Advanced Study programs, as well as work from Interior Design, Digital Media, and Textile Design students.
The event attracted nearly 10,000 people and concluded with the DEBUT Runway Show & Gala, a scholarship fundraising event attended by industry notables, FIDM Alumni, and fashion celebrities.
In partnership with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, the show included a special segment that paired Influencers in the Beauty, Fashion, and Entertainment industries with FIDM DEBUT alumni designers Danny Godoy, Mohamed Salaheldin, Duston Jasso, Francesca Lake, Ali Jawed, Tomy Huang, and Vanessa Puccini.
This year’s influencers who walked the runway in custom designs were James Charles, Nikita Dragun, Patrick Starrr, Kian Lawley, Kandee Johnson, Drew Scott, and Laura Mellado.
In 1969, FIDM was an urban pioneer starting a one-of-a-kind college with two Downtown L.A. classrooms. They have grown to become four campuses with a student body of 4,200 and nearly 70,000 graduates worldwide offering accredited Master’s, Bachelor’s and Associate Degree programs in design and creative business.
Step and Repeat LA provided an 8’x 8’ hedge wall rental that they customized with 16” x 7” high lettering of the FIDM logo and 18” x 11” high lettering of influencer James Charles’ name.
Step and Repeat LA offers media walls, hedge walls with custom 3-D lettering and many other services and products including 12 carpet colors, gold, silver, or retractable belt stanchions, studio-quality lighting, step and repeat packages, stand rentals and much more.
