(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 20, 2012 ) Nashville, TN – Everything seems all set for the 46th Annual Country Music Awards, especially now that the nominations have been revealed. Two of the hottest performers in the world of country music, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean, appeared on Good Morning America live and revealed the nominees for the upcoming CMA Awards.
Bryan and Aldean announced the nominees for the five categories of the awards on Good Morning America, then headed to the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill where they also revealed the nominees in the remaining seven categories. This is the first time since 2005 that all the nominees were revealed in New York City.
The nominees for Female Vocalist of the Year are Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood.
The nominees for Male Vocalist of the Year are Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban.
The nominees for Vocal Group of the Year include Eli Young Band, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, The Band Perry, and Zac Brown Band.
Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, and Blake Shelton make a reappearance as nominees for Entertainer of the Year along with Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley.
Eric Church’s Chief, Miranda Lambert’s Four the Record, Dierks Bentley’s Home, Lady Antebellum’s Own the Night, and Luke Bryan’s Tailgates and Tanlines all have a shot at winning Album of the Year.
New entries Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes, Love and Theft, and Thompson Square also have a chance to bring home the New Artist of the Year award.
Nominees for Vocal Duo of the Year include Big & Rich, Love and Theft, Sugarland, The Civil Wars, and Thompson Square.
Single of the Year nominees include ‘Dirt Road Anthem’ by Jason Aldean, ‘God Gave Me You’ by Blake Shelton, ‘Home’ by Dierks Bentley, ‘Pontoon’ by Little Big Town, and ‘Springsteen’ by Eric Church.
The Song of the Year award, on the other hand, may go to any one of the following: ‘Even If It Breaks Your Heart’ by Will Hoge and Eric Paslay, ‘God Gave Me You’ by Dave Barnes, ‘Home’ by Dan Wilson, Brett Beavers, and Dierks Bentley, ‘Over You’ by Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, and ‘Springsteen’ by Eric Church, Ryan Tyndell, and Jeff Hyde.
Musical Event of the Year nominees include ‘Dixie Highway’ by Alan Jackson featuring Zac Brown, ‘Feel Like A Rock Star’ by Kenny Chesney in a duet with Tim McGraw, ‘’Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die’ by Willie Nelson with Snoop Dogg, Kris Kristofferson, and Jamey Johnson, ‘Safe and Sound’ by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars, and ‘Stuck on You’ by Lionel Richie and Darius Rucker.
Kenny Chesney’s ‘Come Over’, Miranda Lambert’s ‘Over You’, Little Big Town’s ‘Pontoon’, Toby Keith’s ‘Red Solo Cup’, and Eric Church’s ‘Springsteen’ all face up against each other for Music Video of the Year.
The Musician of the Year award may also go to Sam Bush, Paul Franklin, Dann Huff, Brent Mason, or Mac McAnally.
Now that the nominees have been announced, fans only have to wait until November 1 for the 46th Annual Country Music Awards, which will be held at the Bridgestone Arena, formerly known as Sommet Center, in Nashville TN.
