(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 03, 2012 ) Nashville, TN -- The Country Music Association, in cooperation with ABC, announced earlier this year that the 2012 CMA Awards will be held on November 1, Thursday, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. It will also be aired live on ABC.
As November nears, preparations for the event reach full blast. Dubbed as the biggest night in country music, the awards night is expected to attract quite a crowd.

This year’s CMA Awards will be the 46th of its kind. The nominees and broadcast awards finalists have been announced after having been finalized by the 11,000 industry professional members of the Country Music Association. Fans of country music now have only two months to wait before they find out which artists are going to take over the titles from the ranks of Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, and The Band Perry, all of whom were awardees in last year’s 45th CMA Awards.
Last year’s CMA Awards was the no. 1 entertainment show for the week it was shown especially among adults aged 18 to 49. It helped ABC finish at no. 1 last November 9 in viewers across all demographics. It was considered as ABC’s strongest Wednesday in two years and was watched by an estimated 35 million viewers.
The winners of the 46th CMA Awards will be determined by eligible voting members of the association. The balloting will be officiated by the international accounting firm, Deloitte & Touche LLP. The awards will encompass music and musicians who fall within the eligibility period of July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. So far, there have been two voting sessions, the first of which closed at 5 PM last July 9 and the second which closed at 5 PM last August 21. The third and final voting will close on October 22, also at 5 PM.
