(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, August 25, 2012 ) Boston, MA -- The well-loved award-winning drama War Horse will be in Boston for two weeks from October 10 to 21, 2012. The drama will be staged at the Boston Opera House, and will give audiences from Boston and from all over the world to experience the timeless tale of courage, friendship, and loyalty live onstage.
War Horse brings the spotlight on Albert and his beloved horse Joey during the World War I. When Joey gets sold to fight in the war, young Albert does everything he could to rescue Joey and bring him back home from the war. The story is based on the novel of the same title written by Michael Morpurgo. So far, it has won five Tonys in 2012 including Best Play and Best Direction. It has also been adapted into a feature film by Steven Spielberg; the film went on to become nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.
The powerfully stirring drama will be shown in Boston at 7:30 PM from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6:30 PM on Sundays. There will also be matinee performances at 2:00 PM on Saturdays and 1:00 PM on Sundays. On October 11, there will be a special matinee show at 1:00 PM.

In order to make the story come to life, the producers of the shows use life-sized puppets created by the Handspring Puppet Company of South Africa for the breathing, galloping, and charging horses used in the show.
