(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 25, 2011 ) Houston, Texas -- Overpopulated with homeless dogs and situated as a dumping ground for dead fighting dogs, this area of Houston is dubbed The Corridor of Cruelty by Corridor Rescue founder, Deborah Hoffman.
Whether due to the nature of economic conditions, lack of education or intentional cruelty, volunteers who regularly go on feeding routes and intake find that the number of homeless dogs in the Corridor has increased at an alarming rate.
Several activities and events are scheduled in the fall to raise the much needed funds and people are encouraged

October 1, 2011 Speed Dating Dog Adoption and Fundraising Event at Re:HAB Bar 1920 Houston Ave. Houston, Texas
October 22 & 23, 2011 PetFest Festival at Old Town Spring, Texas
October 29, 2011 Buffalo Bayou KidÂ’s Fest, Allen Parkway, Houston, Texas
November 12, 2011 Barktoberfest at Kingwood Town Center Park
In addition to the fundraising initiative, the dog rescue organization, Corridor Rescue is actively recruiting foster homes and permanent adoption homes for the dogs and cats in the Care Program. Michelle Haberland, Supplies Director, states, “We have 80 + animals in our program and 22 feeding stations throughout the Corridor. We are in desperate need of funds to help cover our medical and boarding costs, as well as the cost of food for the feeding stations. So please consider making a donation to help us care for these forgotten animals of the Corridor.”
Animals are either spayed or neutered, have had all their shots, and have been given a clean bill of health.
