Sept. 28, 2010 -- The use of tasers leads to a lack of respect for force, and the accepted use of tasers will inevitably lead to the downfall of the First and Second Amendments. That's one of the hypotheses in the new book "The
Hick Arrives at the Tea Party," an expose on the common man's perceived quest for unattainable liberty.
As taser use becomes more accepted in society, the case will be made that guns will no longer be necessary, weakening the Second Amendment until it's irrelevant, Amendment until it's irrelevant, states the book. On top of that, non-lethal force leads to the overuse of force, especially in cases where a simple disagreement is developing, and this quick-on-the-trigger reaction leads to the stifling of free speech.
"There's no excuse for an old woman to ever be tasered," says the book's author,

"When your peacemaker is a gun, you have to respect the situation and respect force because the consequences are long-lasting. When you use a taser, you know that you'll be able to shut someone up or make them obey you at no life cost. But at what cost liberty?"
