(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, April 05, 2016 ) San Jose, California -- Feeney Fine Writing Instruments has overhauled its packaging procedures to make an easier and more manageable experience for their fountain pen public. The goal was to improve the ease and speed with which a customer could open the box, remove and install the ink and begin writing.
Feeney provides an ink cartridge and ink converter with each pen purchase. The ink converter had been stored in the barrel of the pen for packaging and shipping. If the customer wished to install an ink cartridge, they had to remove the ink converter from the barrel first. This inconvenience was small, however it did add time and extra motions. It became obvious that some very small changes in the packaging would make it much easier for customer use.
Mike Feeney, co-founder and CEO of Feeney Fine Writing Instruments said the following about the changes made and the customer response: "We pride ourselves on our customer service. We never let a customer concern go without completely addressing the situation to the customer's satisfaction. Our seller feedback rating with Amazon is 100% positive. I had been looking over the packaging to see what I could do to make it more user friendly. It should be easier to remove the ink cartridge and get started with your new pen. We made a few adjustments and placed the cartridge and converter end to end alongside the pen in the box. It was a small change, but it made a tremendous difference in the ease with which someone can open the box and begin writing." - Mike Feeney
The company said that the new packaging changes have had a very positive response from both employees and customers.
