Austin believes that current platforms either don't compensate the artist fairly or don't do enough to promote what the artist creates. "On most sites, it feels almost like an afterthought, 'BUY THIS' is in large bold letters but when you're finally able to find out about the artist, there's no way to contact them, or help them build their brand. That is the business we're in, brand building," said Austin.
Another feature that makes the Coil Clothing platform unique is there is no charge for artists to sign up and use the platform as Coil Clothing splits its profits with their artists after a sale is made. Currently, Coil Clothing is offering a 50% profit share with any artist that signs up and submits 3 pieces of art before October 31.
