When Travel Navigator Accessorie's Charles Hynes spoke recently of the product's quick success he pointed out a key process in the company's development of the product: identifying flaws in other passport holders and creating a better product.
Said Hynes, "When we started the research phase for our travel wallet and passport holder we scoured hundreds, maybe thousands, of user reviews for other similar products. We read reviews on Amazon as well as blogger reviews. We looked at other neck wallets similar to ours, but we also looked at money belts, handheld passport covers, and more traditional wallets. In the end we found many common issues that users had with travel wallets and we set out to design a wallet that would meet the user's needs without those flaws"
Hynes said that some of the most significant findings were that other brands didn't design pockets to be efficient, that there was no ideal place for unfolded paper money and no place for coins, and that pockets were not large enough to hold multiple passports or even a smartphone.
"We set out to create a versatile travel wallet that can be worn in several different ways, one that was comfortable, and one that was designed with a specific purpose for each pocket. Now that we have gone full circle through the process of researching, designing, producing, and now seeing the feedback from or customers, it's awesome to see how this effort has really allowed us to better meet the needs of the end user," said Hynes.
Hynes mentioned that Travel Navigator Accessories is already planning to conduct similar research for other travel accessories, with a hidden money belt likely being the next product added to their line.
