(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, August 26, 2015 ) Dover, PA -- Travel Navigator Accessories sells a family travel wallet that is popular on Amazon.com and the company is looking into the possibilities for using recyclable packing. Currently the product is shipped from Amazon's warehouses in a standard thin clear poly/plastic bag. The current packaging is lightweight and convenient for customers, but it is not able to be recycled.
The company has expressed an interest in reducing waste by exclusively using packaging that can be recycled. Amazon has a program that they call Frustration Free Packaging that is intended to help customers purchase items that will be easy to open and unbox. That program also requires sellers to package their products in recyclable containers.
Charles Hynes of Travel Navigator Accessories said, "We fully intend to move to recyclable packaging, we're just in the process right now of trying to decide which option would be best for our customer experience and for our company. It's important to us that we do our part to reduce waste by using recyclable packaging, and we're glad that Amazon has the Frustration Free Packaging program in place to encourage it from their sellers."
Hynes mentioned that Travel Navigator Accessories is considering simple cardboard boxes as well as cardboard envelopes, or possibly a recyclable bag or some sort. The company's first product, the family travel wallet, is fairly small (5.5 inches by 9 inches), thin, and lightweight (2 ounces), so the company believes plenty of options are available. The company hopes to have the recyclable packaging in use by the end of 2015.
