(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, August 19, 2015 ) Los Angeles, California -- Everyone is familiar with the iconic images around Los Angeles: the Hollywood sign, Santa Monica Pier, the Beverly Hills sign, Hollywood and Vine, Sunset Boulevard, Rodeo Drive and on and on.
But there's another view of L.A., a very different view that few people ever get to see. It is this view that photographer Alex Scott shares in his latest project NOBODY WALKS IN LA.
NWILA is a collection of images of Los Angeles at night as seen through its network of streets and freeways without the distraction of vehicles. A bound collection of full-color photographs, this book documents a two-year exploration of the city by night, with empty roads, deserted freeways and echoing underpasses.
The book is being produced as a limited edition art book, and is currently available only through the Kickstarter campaign that's funding it.
About the artist
Alex Scott is a native of Los Angeles. As a night owl, he's spent much of his life in the desolate beauty of L.A.'s empty streets. It wasn't until he started capturing these magic moments in photos and sharing them with close friends that he realized few people had seen the things he saw and were amazed by the images.
Enough people asked for a book of these enchanting photographs that Alex began to explore what it would take to make it—and this led to Kickstarter as the simplest way to share his vision with as many people as possible.
"Sometimes it was a little hairy going to some of the locations I shot from in the middle of the night," Alex says. Climbing fences, sliding down culverts and dodging graffiti taggers out staking gang boundaries were all part of the adventure Scott documented in NOBODY WALKS IN LA.
