(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, December 26, 2014 ) Philadelphia, Pa -- George Pagonis has surprisingly returned to Bravo's Top Chef Boston Season 12 after being booted off in the first episode of the competition. Pagonis is a graduate from University of Mary Washington and the executive chef at Kapnos that is also located in Washington DC.
Pagonis competed along with 7 other contestants who were kicked off the show. The losing chef from the quickfire challenge shall be pitted against a challenger chosen by each of the contestants. The quickfire challenge is exclusive to contestants who have not been eliminated yet (www.bravotv.com/top-chef).
A roasted rabbit loin with mustard jus bested Weinner's tomato-braised rabbit leg and kept him in the competition. He also had to compete with Katie Weinner of Salt Lake City's SLC Pop. She was deemed to have the worst dish with a soggy sourdough bread which made her lose the battle but will yet to compete with Top Chef's Last Chance episode.
On the other hand, the online sister series of Top Chef, "The Last Chance Kitchen" which takes the eliminated contestants from Top Chef and gives them a chance to re-enter the main competition but after contesting in battle against one another. Joy Crump who happened to be ousted on the 2nd episode of season 12 had a chance to compete with other contestants. "This time I'm gonna cook it right," she said during the show. However, Crump failed to live to her own high expectations.
Crump created her very own dish. A wood roasted veal chop with a sweet smelling vanilla aroma, though the judges were not really impressed with the vanilla scented dish so instead she cooked a savory veal chop with celery root puree, bacon studded kale and a pickled vegetable vinaigrette.
She got a positive review from Chef Collicchio. He mentioned that the vinaigrette was delicious and the greens were well done which put her in the top 3.
