Based on a hunch, two junior detectives stumble into the case of their lives - a brutal murder in the sleepy town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Retained by the ex-wife of the victim, they go to work on the case, contrary to the wishes of the local police. As their investigation unfolds, the adversary is always a step ahead and there is more to his plan than the local murder: "cultural catalyst" David Witt (do NOT call him a domestic terrorist!) perceives himself as society's savior and will do anything to assure that his "Operation Shadow man" is an earth shattering success.
While Witt may be a philosopher, he is dangerous and skilled enough to remain invisible to the earnest detectives. And as a strategy for large-scale terrorism, Shadow Man is deceptively simple, so much so that it might just work. Can detectives James Fortune and Mike Wurzel find their way through the maze of clues before Shadow Man takes flight, or will he be coming for all of us?
