About the Novel

About the Author Joshua Done - was born in Long Beach California and grew up in the Snoqualmie Valley of Washington State. He loves to read science fiction and urban fantasy because, "science fiction allows you to approach human questions without the trappings of modern society". Overcoming obstacles has become a big part of Josh's life. He readily responds to challenges from rock climbing (he earned his teaching credentials from Boy Scouts of America) to conquering severe food allergies by becoming a self-taught gluten free, dairy free chef. When Josh complained to his brother that science fiction lacked stories that, "follow historical trends", he was challenged to describe that world and put it in writing. Josh responded by creating the world of the Hyperion Empire and writing his first novel, Exile Empire. Josh has a BA in political economy from Hillsdale College in Michigan. When not writing, Josh enjoys collecting ancient coins and his hunting and fishing expeditions into the local forest.
