Printing Company Hopes To Begin a Trend in Marion

(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, August 13, 2013 ) Calgary, Canada -- TFR Printing, small printing company, has picked Marion Ohio as its new location. The business was transplanted from Dayton; a decision made by its two owners, Dale Haddad and his son
Phillip. The elder Haddad stayed in Marion, in 2004, when the locally owned Macola Software was acquired by a Netherlands-based company and moved to Columbus. He had been Macola’s chief financial officer for 15 years. “I had a family, kids still in school. Relocating was not an option for me,” Dale said. “And there were a lot of good reasons for staying in Marion.” He and his son then started TFR Printing in Dayton.

Nearly a decade later, the company has begun outgrowing its facilities in southwest Ohio. Dale is relocating the company to Marion “for the same reasons I didn’t move. With all of Marion’s challenges, this really is a good community.” Phillip Haddad also likes the Marion location on Park Boulevard because it shortens his commute from Columbus. He hopes other businesses will do likewise. “I’m born and raised from Marion,” said the younger Haddad. “As my friends say, I’m a Marionaire through and through, born and bred. I love this city, and it breaks my heart to see things that are happening happen here. Bringing businesses is a good way to get people jobs because people do things when they’re bored and they’re bored because they don’t have jobs. And you know jobs equal money, and things could just balance out and maybe we could start a trend bringing our business here. Maybe some other businesses will want to come here as well.”

The company does not compete with other printers in the region. It has ongoing contracts with McGraw Hill and other large companies, which brings “new revenue into the city.” Marion has welcomed the business with open arms, receiving visits from both Marion County Commissioner Dan Russell and Mayor Scott Schertzer.
