(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, July 16, 2013 ) Las Vegas, NV -- There's a new telescope currently being built by the European Space Agency (ESA), who plan to map out two billion galaxies, with regards to the shape, brightness and its 3D distribution. The launch is planned for 2020, and Scientists believe it could help to resolve key problems with regard to understanding evolution, and the eventual fate of our expanding cosmos, so quite revealing stuff if they are successful.
The main camera for Euclid is being designed and constructed in the UK, and the camera will possess an amazing 600 megapixels and with custom made detectors. Another record it will be breaking is that it will be the biggest digital camera to have ever been launched into space, providing a fabulous view of the skies above in incredibly fine detail, and to be shared with everyone round the world. The infra-red camera shall be used to calculate the distances to and between the galaxies. Professor Carlton Baugh of the University of Durham (who's accountable for completing comprehensive Euclid simulations) says "these distances will give us a completely different view of the dark universe, and that looking at 3D photographs of the universe will be a lot more interesting for scientists to study".
Now the biggest camera doesn't necessary mean it's the best digital camera for everyone, but if we should take a look at the best digital cameras on the current market, then results seen online would indicate that the Canon Powershot SX500 leads the way with it's ultra wide-angle 30x zoom lens, and really does have excellent optical image stabilization. Finally Nikon again secure a mention with the Nikon Coolpix l810 being described as "the biggest of the bunch", fully armed with a 26x optical zoom, and with the gold mine under the hood, including the ED lens elements, the VR system, and the Expeed C2 Processor, which speeds up the picture data transfer, so you can take your next shot immediately.
So while the ESA are waiting patiently to produce those 3D universal pictures throughout the 2 billion galaxies, you could be using any of the best digital cameras mentioned before, though my personal favorite is the Canon Powershot SX500, but they are all capable of producing great night photography pics of the moon, stars and night skies above.
