Fashion Photographer Herb Ritts at his best, with some really eye-opening pics of such famous people (from President Mandela to Madonna)

(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, July 10, 2013 ) Las Vegas, NV -- After the recent anniversary of the passing of icon fashion photographer Herb Ritts, it came to light again that Herb of the Jewish faith himself, did actually leave a great legacy behind, by helping Jewish Gays to feel okay with themselves, and to finally come out of the closet. The photographer unfortunately passed away much too soon in 2002 due to the HIV/AIDS virus, which he had to endure for a few years in the 80's and 90's until his final passing time. But like mainly stars struck down by Aids, Herb still had the strength to speak out for the emerging younger Jewish generation, and it was after his appearance in an NBC News special about gay life in the 1990s (The Gay '90s) which brought him letters from many gay teens, including some who had contemplated suicide.

An incredibly hard worker Herb possessed a very different vision to other to other photographers in the 90s, and so Herb Ritts (1952 - 2002) began to fashion himself into one of the leading pro photographers to emerge from the 1980s. Herb's works were splashed all over leading magazines like the Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone to name just a few. Other icon entertainers that have gone on to honor his name included Madonna. Fashion Photographer Herb actually took a pic of the pop icon which was then used as the True Blue album cover. You probably didn't realize at the time while watching TV commercials, but much of his work was used by companies such as Donna Karan, Giorgio Armani., Calvin Klein and not forgetting the Gap.

It was in fact while living in Los Angeles, he became interested in photography when he and friend Richard Gere, then just an up and coming actor went on to shoot some pictures right by an old jacked up Buick. That very picture gained Herb plenty of coverage and he soon began to take photography a lot more seriously, and quickly went on to became the leading Los Angeles photographer. It didn't take long before he aspired to becoming the most sought after American fashion photographer, while just concentrating on black & white photography and portrait pictures, and he really did provide the energy, drive and creative mastery which can only be described as the backbone for today's fashion magazines. Today we would have to compare his achievements to any modern day war photographer, who actually risk their own lives to keep us "in the know" on a daily basis, often through use of shocking and impacting images.

Fashion Photographer Herb will be remembered mainly for those wonderful fashion portrait images we have seen in all the glamor magazines, but he like many public icons has managed to share his personal feelings with the larger public, and really help others in the same situation as he was, which pretty much marginalized back then. His life changed the day he picked up a camera in downtown LA, and began to focus on his future as probably the world's best photographer. Even Herb would have had to learn the basics of photography first, similar to the photography tips revealed in this FREE photography guide found on the shootdigitalpicslikethepros website and by just following these 20 photography pointers, anybody could just pick up a camera and begin taking great pics immediately.
