Occasionally, we do things because we love them and simply for no other reason.” Yeah Boi Music Group (Y.B.M.G) was one of those things.
Headed by three founders -Kali Joe and Omar Richardson and Rita Richardson - Omar Richardson started the group on the first of April 2013. It started with collecting music-beats to be exact. With a wide array of voices, it was only fair to expand the choice of beats. Ranging from hip hop to rap, R&B to pop, Y.B.M.G. is a combination of sounds and identities. Composited primarily of males, you can expect many of the lyrics to have a certain bite to them, and since of rawness. Not to be outdone, the one female vocalist packs a punch all her own.
Collectively, Y.B.M.G. voices work; somehow weaving in and out of the different melodies, intertwining and harmonizing. Separately, fans can hear the tongue twisting speed and sharp lyrics in artists J-Dox, It'sJeHallYa'll, and Chili Lauren's voices. More of a spoken word artist, John Taft's lyrics come with a surprisingly comical, but intellectual tone. Taking on more of a slower groove but bringing none the less powerful voices, are fellow rappers and songwriters King Capp, Jeff Venom, New Money and Vibe.
Earnest "Baby" Graves- sings as a partner to female vocalist That Girl B. Although neither one of them rap, the two of them harmonize with similar though completely different voices. Soft and lilting, sensuous and melodious, their voices meld together making sweet sounds to unconventional beats. Producing the agreeably different, but hard-hitting beats is DJ QJack. And last, but nowhere near least is Tri-State Trilla- co founder, singer and songwriter Omar Richardson.
