A new photography company, like many others in the past, is hoping to shed some light on how people in these countries live. This is an undertaking that they view a absolutely crucial to people who may forget how fortunate they are, as well as those people who want images in countries that they have some sort of interest in.
In the words of the company's owner, "I've always loved to travel, but at some point, I realized that I wasn't really getting the most out of my trips. I found myself entranced by nations, such as areas in Africa, that were war-torn or just underdeveloped. I think others are, too. That said, I felt it was my purpose to take photos of these areas to bring some sort of awareness and education. We all need to step back a bit and actually be grateful of where we are as a country. We also need to know about these countries, and I wanted to give people a look that they won't see in mainstream photography."
The company is set to chart to Asia first, where they plan to travel from rural China and work their way around the continent, visiting locations that have seen various forms of violence, poverty, and other places that seem to need some attention. The owner says that they also hope to visit parts of Africa once they establish the requisite fixers and guides, though the time-line for the endeavor hasn't been set. As far as China is concerned, they have already secured the proper documentation, established contacts, and have been looking to start shooting by the end of the month.
Commercial photography is a booming industry that is highly adaptable and integrated into various facets of business and personal photography - with work ranging from wedding & holiday photos for families, to team photos for company websites, on up to photography for full-fledged advertising and marketing campaigns.
