Duchess Kate Middleton Sparks Trending Haircut reports Salon Skanda

(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 24, 2012 ) Atlanta, GA -- After Kate Middleton revealed her new haircut last week, young women in New York City have gone crazy trying to get the new look.

Multiple top notch hair salons in New York CIty have reported that since the royal princess exposed her new look, they have been inundated by customers asking for the “Kate Middleton” haircut, and have even showed up with pictures of the Duchess for reference.

According to Mordechai Alvow, founder of Yarok Hair, the phone has been ringing off the hook for young women looking for the new do.

“There has absolutely been a surge in demand for long bangs,” said Alvow. “Designers have been showing a lot of retro seventies looks and they are a great match.”

Even other famous figures have shown interest in the new look, including singer Leah Blishi, 37, who was once unsure about the look, but after MiddletonÂ’s appearance, she decided to go for it.

According to many hair stylists, the “Middleton look” can actually work on anyone. Gardner Edmunds of Marie Robinson Salon said that not only do centrally-parted bangs work on most faces, it is also a very easy hairstyle to maintain for women who want a break from high-maintenance hair.

“Aside from Kate’s obvious allure, clients have been asking for her new long bangs because its a low risk option for a big impact change because as the bang grows out it eventually blends in with the rest of your long layers,” said Edmunds.

Celebrity stylist Oscar Blandi of Oscar Blandi Salon agreed with Edmunds and added, “Anyone can wear this look, but it’s important that the cut is well-proportioned and tailored to the woman’s bone structure and hair line. The length of the bang depends heavily on these things.”

“Kate’s bangs are angled towards the end of the eyebrows framing her face beautifully which is a more seventies look,” said Alvow.

According to Edmunds, “The cut is versatile too. The length of her bang accentuates her cheekbones and draws attention to her eyes. It is versatile because you can part it on the side creating a dramatic sweep across the forehead or stick with a classic center part.”

As such a public figure and an admired one at that, it is no surprise that Kate Middleton has had the impact that she has, just because of a haircut. Fashion is always changing based on what the most famous people are doing because media shapes society in this day in age. If Kate Middleton shaved her head tomorrow, there is no doubt that women around the world would follow suite.
