(OTC: VIRA), the first open source biotech research social network platform, announced today the appointment of Jared Greenholz ,MD FACEP FAAEM to its Advisory Committee. Dr Greenholz obtained his doctorate of medicine from New York Medical College in 1996 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Alameda County Medical Center in 2000. He has focused his professional efforts on providing exceptional clinical emergency care in high volume tertiary care hospitals in Nevada and California.
Dr. Greenholz has taken an active role in teaching emergency medicine and internal medicine residents. His calming, focused, teaching style has enabled countless developing physicians to acquire the confidence, skill, and knowledge that is needed to become a capable, efficient emergency physician. His professional areas of expertise include advanced airway management, ultrasound, and emergency cardiac care.
Dr. Greenholz has served as QA Director for a large emergency medicine group that provides coverage for multiple high volume departments. This role afforded him the opportunity to review cases where there was a concern about the quality of care provided. He has also served as Medical Director for Storey County Fire Department for the last decade, in a supervisory role where he would review EMS policy, guide care delivered, and provide clinical teaching for a moderate volume, suburban county EMS system.
Dr. Greenholz is a Fellow in both the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Physicians and is an active participant in both organizations. He has been working as an expert peer reviewer for the Medical Boards of both California and Nevada. This role allows him to review cases in emergency medicine where there some aspect of the care delivered has been questioned. He reviews the entire case and renders an expert opinion about whether there has been any deviation from the standard of care.
