After a series of successful concerts all around the globe, including Europe and North America, they are staging another in Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. They are in town for two shows on November 30 and December 1, 2012, at 7:30 p.m.
One Direction has just come from a successful Up All Night Tour, one of which was held in the same venue, Mohegan Sun Arena, last May 22, 2012. It’s the first tour for the British boy band who also emerged as third place in the X Factor UK’s seventh season. Managed by Modest Management, Up All Night was spearheaded by Lou Teasdale and Caroline Watson.
The first few dates that were released covered Ireland and other European countries. However, due to insistent public demand, One Direction also included North America and Oceania, thereby increasing their tour dates to more than 60.
The tour features the tracks found in their Up All Night debut album. These include “Moments,” “More Than This,” “Up All Night,” “Use Somebody,” “I Wish,” “One Thing,” “Stand Up,” “Save You Tonight, and “What Makes You Beautiful.” They also sing a medley of covers like “Stereo Hearts,” “Torn,” “Valerie,” and “I Gotta Feeling.” Traveling along with them are some front acts like Boyce Avenue and Matt Lonsdale for UK and Ireland, Johnny Ruffo and Justice Crew for Australia, Annah Mac for New Zealand, and Camryn, Manika, and Olly Murs for their North American leg.
The sizzling-hot boy band proves they are tops with the fast sale of their concert tickets as well as the addition of new tour dates to accommodate requests. In New Zealand, they sold more than 9,000 tickets in less than 10 minutes. As of the present, One Direction posts a whopping 99 percent concert ticket sales, with a revenue of over $4 million across 9 venues.
One Direction is composed of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. Created as a group in 2011 X Factor, they eventually landed third place, but they ended up the most successful among X Factor winners.
