(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, October 07, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- Given there is no foreseeable end to the player lockout, the Florida Panthers season-ticket holders are faced a deadline to decide whether to let the team hold their money for the duration of the labor dispute.
All things considered, the fans had three basic choices, which were outlined in a letter to ticket-holders designed to discourage them from seeking refunds.
Those fans who agreed to maintain their full balance with the team were able to opt for 10% credit and 5% payment for all games that became canceled and not rescheduled. Those numbers are easily the most generous among the NHL teams, with many teams opting for 3% to 5% credit.
However, it is not the credit option, but the third option that is raising some eyebrows among the Panther faithful.
"Upon selecting Option 3, your account is subject to cancellation. In the event the entire 2012-13 season is canceled, you will be offered the option to renew tickets at the market price at the time of your renewal for the 2013-14 season, however seat location cannot be guaranteed and seat/location cannot be held."
In other words, those who choose the third option are forfeiting their advantage recurring season-ticket holders. The move is being considered a rather drastic slap to the face by an organization with lacking skills in the customer relations department.
Those who agree to let the Panthers hold their funds and receive the credit, the percentage gained can be used toward playoff tickets in the 2013-2014 season. Those who receive 5% payment instead, it will be issued when the 2012-2013 season begins. It is yet to be disclosed whether or not payment will be made if the season is entirely canceled.
