DEAD LOCK author B. David Warner guest on Michigan Magazine TV
(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, October 08, 2012 ) Clarkston, MI - Major publishing house, Black Rose Writing is showcasing two novels set in Michigan featuring strong female characters. The novels were written by action thriller specialist B David Warner.
Both are mystery/thrillers with strong female protagonists.
Dead Lock is a novel set in the Upper Peninsula in the middle of World War II. It features Kate Brennan, a strong female protagonist, who escapes the mob in Detroit and travels to Sault Ste. Marie, where she works for her uncle’s newspaper. Investigating the murder of a close friend, she runs headlong into a Nazi plot to destroy the Soo Locks.
“The destruction of the Soo Locks could have changed the course of the war,” says Warner. “Nearly 90% of the iron ore bound for U.S. defense plants had to travel through the locks by lake freighter.”
Another novel with strong female characters is Freeze Frame 2016. Set in modern day Detroit, Michigan, the action takes place in the fast-paced world of politics and the automotive advertising industry.
Days before the election, advertising executive Darcy James discovers the dark secret behind the third party presidential candidate who’s leading in the polls. She alone can stop him, but she and her lover Sean Higgins are being hunted by police for a murder they didn’t commit. Chased by both terrorists and the police, they must find the evidence that will prove their innocence, and convict the candidate of treason.
“People who like strong female characters will love Darcy James,” says Warner. “She’s not only a strong executive who knows her way around the advertising business, but around the race track as well. She’s an accomplished competitor in automotive racing.”
