Marshall MXL V67i Tube Condenser Microphone Expands The Popular V67G Series

(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 12, 2008 ) El Segundo, CA. Marshall Electronics Inc., MXL Division announced the MXL V67i Tube microphone, a large gold diaphragm condenser tube microphone with two selectable capsules yielding both modern and vintage sound characteristics.

The V67i Tube microphone becomes the big brother to the V67G solid state microphone which is one of the most popular studio mics in the world since its release in 2001. The large V67i Tube mic carries on the popular look of the V67G distinctive green body with a lush newly designed 24 K gold plated grill.

The microphoneÂ’s unique design with 2 selectable capsules is like having two mics in one - with the front side having a warm, lush sound, and the microphoneÂ’s back side simulating some of the brighter, more airy sounding, vintage capsule characteristics of early tube mics of the 1960s.

The V67i Tube uses a 12AT7 dual triode vacuum tube, -10dB pad, and a 150Hz roll-off switch. The V67i Tube has a 20-20kHz frequency response, max SPL of 140 to 150 dB, a self noise of 22 dBA, and a S/N of 74dB. A switch with warm and bright settings selects between the two internal capsules and a bright red LED shines through the grill indicating which capsule is energized.
All the wiring both inside and outside the mic uses Mogami high definition audio cable to maximize performance for the most critical applications.

The MXL V67i Tube microphone ships with an aluminum flight case, power supply, 15 foot 7-pin tube cable, 15 foot XLR cable, shockmount, windscreen, an ownerÂ’s manual, and a microphone applications guide.

The MSRP of the MXL V67i Tube microphone is $849.00 and it is now shipping.
