(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 05, 2008 ) El Segundo, CA. Marshall Electronics Inc., is pleased to announce the introduction of the MXL Studio 1, a high definition USB condenser microphone for instant high quality recording for podcasting, broadcast field production, and business meetings. The Studio 1 microphone, because of its low noise and high quality sound, is also well suited for the conference table and radio show interviews. For personal computer conferencing the MXL Studio 1 provides radio quality voice-over-Skype and other internet voice applications.
The Studio 1 USB microphone features a built-in high performance headphone monitoring jack which provides zero latency monitoring and crystal clear audio playback. Zero latency monitoring allows the performer to hear their own voice or instrument directly in the headphones before the signal goes to the computer. This means the timing of the performance is more accurately synched with other previously recorded audio tracks.
The MXL Studio 1 is an immediate plug and play device for use with any PC or Mac computer. The Studio 1 does not require expensive mixers, preamps, or other gear. No special software or drivers are needed; just plug the mic into your portable or desktop computer, set the desired preferences and enjoy instant studio-like quality recording.
The mic uses the best of both analog and digital technology to bring true low noise studio quality to a compact, ready to travel mic. It features a large 14mm capsule with a 2 micron diaphragm, a 20-20kHz frequency response and the digital section features a 16 bit Delta Sigma A/D converter with a sampling rate of 44.1 and 48.1 kHz. A red LED light behind the protective grill shows that the mic is active and correctly oriented toward the user.
The MXL Studio 1 ships with a hard carrying case, desktop mic stand, mic stand adaptor, a 10-foot USB cable, cleaning cloth, userÂ’s manual, and application guide.
The Studio 1 MSRP is $129.95 and the mic is shipping now.
In addition to the MXL Studio 1, Marshall is introducing a number of USB interface devices that provide studio quality sound from professional dynamic microphones or condenser microphones which require a 48 volt phantom power supply.
