(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 20, 2012 ) Anaheim, CA – Nick Jr.’s award-winning children’s TV show Yo Gabba Gabba is set to perform live at the Honda Center on November 24.
The TV show, which currently airs in the United States and in various countries including Ireland, Italy, France, and Australia, has enjoyed excellent reception since it debuted in 2007. Audiences fully embraced its unique live stage show format, which appealed similarly to children, parents, and even indie music lovers. Less than one year after its premiere, the show received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design/Styling.
Now, due to the popularity of the show, Yo Gabba Gabba is set to bring its colorful cast of characters live onstage in several cities across North America. The multiple-city tour billed as Yo Gabba Gabba Live!: Get the Sillies Out! will kick-off with three initial shows toward the end of the year, and will continue in 2013. The live tour is produced by W!LDBRAIN Entertainment.
Part of the tour is a stop at Anaheim’s Honda Center; this will mark the first time that Yo Gabba Gabba will perform live in Orange Country, the home of its creators Scott Schultz and Christian Jacobs. Yo Gabba Gabba will perform at the said venue twice at 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM. The shows will feature hip-hop star Biz Markie, who will provide additional entertainment together with his Beat of the Day. Other guest appearances include Super Music Friends and Dancey Dance.
Yo Gabba Gabba has pledged to donate a portion of ticket proceeds earned from the Honda Center show as well as the Los Angeles show to Festival of Children Foundation.
These shows, as well as the 2013 North American shows, are all part of the show’s third tour series. The first tour, billed as Yo Gabba Gabba Live!: There’s A Party in My City!, saw the show play in 60 cities; almost all the shows were sold out. The second tour, called Yo Gabba Gabba Live!: It’s Time to Dance!, enjoyed the same success in 2011. The number of shows was increased to 120.
In the past, Yo Gabba Gabba live shows have featured guest stars such as Snoop Dogg, Nicole Richie, Devendra Banhart, Matt Costa, Moby, Keri Russell, Lou Diamond Phillips, Zac Brown, and many others.
Its shows have also been populated by celebrities like Christian Aguilera, Jessica Alba, Heidi Klum, Gwen Stefani, and several others together with their families.
