(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 20, 2012 ) Miami, FL – Circus lovers in Miami will have an additional reason to celebrate the New Year now that the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus has announced that it will begin 2013 in Miami.
After a long series of shows in several venues at once, the famous circus company will spend almost the entire month of January in Miami, where it will welcome visitors to the greatest show on earth to be held at the American Airlines Arena.
The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus will begin their shows on January 9 at 7:00 PM. Their last show for the 2013 Miami run will be on January 21 at 6:00 PM.
After this, they will have a short break until the 30th, when their shows at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte will begin. The circus company will only be in Charlotte until the 3rd of February, unlike their significantly longer run in Miami.
It is not common for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus to stay too long in one place without simultaneous runs in other cities. Thus, its long and dedicated run in Miami is expected to be met with enthusiasm.
As of now, tickets for the circus company’s performances until April 21, 2013 are now pre-selling, allowing circus fans to book their tickets in advance.
The Ringling Brothers Circus is a circus company dating back to 1884. It eventually joined with the Barnum and Bailey Circus, which the Ringling brothers bought in 1907 but operated separately from their original circus. Eventually, however, the two circuses were merged into one in 1919. The resulting company became billed as the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’. Despite the coming together of the two companies, the name ‘Ringling Brothers’ still reflected the honest and fair attitude that the original company became known for in its heyday.
Just last August, the Greatest Show on Earth entered the Guinness Book of World Records with the Biggest Shaving Cream Pie Fight on Earth. The event, called the Pie Fight Battlezone, involved a total of 714 participants and was held at the AT&T Plaza in front of the American Airlines Center. The participants had to withstand 102-degree weather for the Guinness attempt, and their efforts proved worth it.
