Fish like a local. Learn to catch fish and blue water hunt with a skilled professional. Many Kosraen fishermen troll during the day and fish while skin diving at night. From time to time they return with 200 pound marlin- caught on a hand land! Some fishermen and women prefer to use nets, nets, made locally, or fish the mangrove channels for crab.
Join a hunting expedition. In the lush mountains, Kosrean men hunt wild pigs using machetes and dogs. ItÂ’s possible to join a hunt, although you must be in good physical condition to participate safely.
Trek the rainforest. Kosrae is a small, steep island covered in thick rainforests and mangroves. Spend the day hiking through the rainforest in search of archaeological sites, climbing the rugged peaks, or navigating the mangroves in an outrigger canoe. Local guides can lead the way and point out many tropical birds and unusual flora.
