Washington, DC -- Andy Parks, long time favorite of Washington radio listeners, returns with a new program: Andy ParksÂ…Live from The Washington Times, that will be heard in the afternoon from 3 PM to 6 PM.

Beginning today, the new show will be broadcast live from a studio overlooking the newsroom of The Washington Times. The program will be heard on Metro Radio Inc. stations; 730 AM, WTNT and 1250 AM, WKDL. It will be streamed live on washingtontimes.com and and 730wtnt.com.

The program will feature conversation, news and opinions about major issues of the day and feature interviews with federal, state and local government leaders as well as Washington business decision makers. It will provide updates and in-depth reports from Washington Times journalists and editors on breaking stories. Callers from around the metropolitan region will play a key role in each dayÂ’s broadcast.

The new radio show will be a leading source of information emanating from Washington with a conservative point of view during the important afternoon rush hour.

Broadcasting from The Washington Times will allow Parks to present interviews with numerous national and global leaders who come to the Times for “Newsmaker” interviews.

Mr. Parks has informed and entertained metropolitan Washington residents of over thirty years. He is a two-time nominee of the prestigious National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Award for “Major Market Personality of the Year”.

A research study, completed in late 2010, found that Mr. ParksÂ’ former WMAL program was the most listened to morning radio show by Washington Times readers. So, right from the beginning, this new radio marriage of Andy Parks on WTNT and Washington Times print and digital readers is a positive for both.

Andy Parks said, ”I am extremely happy to be a part of the Washington Times family. The Times has been my paper of choice for many years telling the real story about politics, national security, and life in the most powerful city in the world. This new show represents a bold forward thinking approach to deliver the pages of the Washington Times not only in print or on the web, but by spoken word. I am grateful to the people here for making it possible and I 'm anxious to get started.”

Ann Wog will serve as Executive Producer of the show. Ms. Wog previously served as Executive Producer of Grandy and Andy show on WMAL in Washington. She also produced similar afternoon shows at leading stations in Seattle.

The program will add an end-of-the day news and information format that compliments The Washington TimesÂ’ other radio program, AmericaÂ’s Morning News also heard on 730 AM, WTNT and on over 130 stations throughout the United States.

Thomas P. McDevitt, President of The Washington Times, said “Andy Parks is a well-known, admired and trusted radio personality for those who live in Washington. We are honored and excited to expand our radio presence for hometown audiences by bringing Andy back on the air – broadcast live and imbedded in the newsroom of The Washington Times.”

Bruce Houston, President of Metro Radio Inc. said, “730 AM and 1250 AM are very proud to be carrying Andy Parks…Live from The Washington Times. Andy Parks is an excellent personality in Washington and is liked by everyone. He has been on radio in Washington for many years and is a household name. It is great to have him back on the air in our city. I look forward to hearing Andy interview key Washington leaders and national celebrities once again.”

The Show will work in an interactive mode with news, information, audio, social media, polls, headlines and commentary found on Washington TimesÂ’ websites.

While much of the programming will focus on government related activities; Washington arts, sports, restaurants and events will also find a home on this show. In this way, the program will convey the myriad reasons why metropolitan Washington is a great place to live after all the debating, voting and politicking is over for the day.

Ed Kelley, Editor of The Washington Times said, "Having Andy as part of our team is going to be a real treat for listeners throughout the area who turn to the The Washington Times for distinctive reporting and commentary. His experience in this market, as well as knowledge of both local and national issues, complement our strategy of bringing The Washington Times' experience to audiences across a variety of media.”

Thomas Culligan, Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer for The Washington Times added; “Andy Parks is revered by advertisers in Washington as a trusted voice that creates believability for advertising and sponsorships heard during his show. Advertisers will be able to combine their messages with similar programming such as America’s Morning News, Laura Ingraham and Michael Savage that run on 730 AM WTNT throughout the day. And, increased value will be created by combining radio commercials on these programs with advertising run in The Washington Times and on Times’ websites and email marketing programs.”
