After a day of exploration and contemplation find some dried juniper leaves to start a crackling fire and fall asleep beneath the stars to the sounds of the high desert.
Southwest Idaho is a camperÂ’s paradise. Whether looking for a place to pitch a tent near great fly-fishing, relaxing hot springs, or North AmericaÂ’s largest sand dunes, youÂ’ll find the perfect campsite here. At Ponderosa State Park, campers can fall asleep on the shores of Payette Lake and lay-back with a pair of binoculars for birding during the day. Keep an out for local moose, beaver, deer, and maybe even a bear.
