(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 22, 2009 ) COSTA RICA—Costa Rica Nature Adventures’ Pacuare Lodge offers multiple options for an eco-adventure romantic getaway. Situated in the midst of a Costa Rica rainforest with the Pacuare River rushing outside the doorstep, it epitomizes romance. The honeymoon suite is a palm-thatched bungalow with wide windows, teak floors and a king bed. The private deck contains a hammock and canopy rattan sofa overlooking the river and tropical forest. The large en suite bathroom has double sinks and a solar shower. A nearby deck opens to a solar alfresco shower set amid the rich vegetation. The suite also features its own private infinity pool. Finally, a 120-foot hanging bridge leads from the bungalow deck to a platform high in a towering tree for private enjoyment of the rainforest canopy.
The package includes two nights in either a river-view or honeymoon suite, dinner for two, hot breakfasts in the suite, a couples massage, guided rainforest hike, zip-line adventure through the Pacuare canopy and planting a commemorative tree with plaque. Transfers to and from San Jose are included and offer a choice of a white-water rafting transfer or in a 4x4 vehicle. Prices are $770 per person in a river-view suite or $853 per person in the honeymoon suite. Another option is one of the four brand-new Linda Vista Suites, which include a living room, king bed, private bath with solar shower, outside solar shower, private deck and terrace with hammock and private spring-fed swimming pool.
Pacuare Lodge is the worldÂ’s quintessential eco-resort, from its sustainable building methods to its solar heating panels, use of spring water and water-driven turbine electric generator. While all waste is currently either composted or recycled, the lodge is building a biodigester which will turn organic waste and sewage into methane to heat water and provide more electricity.
