WITH NEW PREMIUM-QUALITY DECORATIVE ART GLASS REPRODUCTIONS OF TIFFANY'S Wisteria AND Summer PANELS, MEIXIA USA INTRODUCES TWO PRODUCTS TO DELIGHT MUSEUM-STORE AND GIFT-SHOP BUYERS

(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 24, 2009 )

ROCKFORD, MI. March 24, 2009.__Meixia USA announces two new unique decorative art glass reproductions to enrich the summer home accent collections of museum stores and quality gift shops. As part of its Truth in Glass line, the company has just introduced reproductions of Louis Comfort TiffanyÂ’s WISTERIA and SUMMER from THE FOUR SEASONS. The two products reproduce with precision the soft lavenders and leaded-glass style of WISTERIA as well as the bright colors and concentrated detail of SUMMER.

As both an innovator and designer, Tiffany was one of the most famous most famous glassmakers in American history. His command of the medium makes his work notoriously difficult to reproduce well. “Stained glass Tiffany pieces have a great amount of detail and a myriad of colors which often blend and overlap,” observes Monica Huang, Vice-General Manager of Meixia Arts and Handicrafts, Ltd.-Glass Painting Division. She has been instrumental in developing the superior glass painting technology of the Truth in Glass line.

The two works that Meixia Arts and Handicrafts, Ltd., is reproducing were among TiffanyÂ’s personal favorites. SUMMER was originally part of a larger work called THE FOUR SEASONS, which won a gold medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. It made use of copper foiling, a method that Tiffany had recently invented to replace leading. WISTERIA, which was an example of leaded glass in TiffanyÂ’s Art Nouveau style, featured one of his favorite plants; he used wisteria in his lamps as well as in windows.

The new panels demonstrate fine craftsmanship and a mastery of the intricate processes of art glass. Like the great stained-glassmakers of medieval Europe, the artisans of Meixia Arts and Handicrafts, Ltd., produce translucent, glowing panels whose colors fuse with the glass in firing, and therefore donÂ’t fade or scratch off. Working with an 850-hue palette, which is a key part of the exclusive process perfected by the company, they capture the richness and details of TiffanyÂ’s original works.

Tiffany intended his windows to be enjoyed by as many people as possible, whether they viewed them from the interior or exterior. In keeping with his conviction that art and beauty should be accessible across society, he also designed a wide range of products to ensure that his designs were accessible not only to high-end consumers but to those of more modest means as well.

“Tiffany’s windows and panels are irreplaceable,” notes Ava Maxwell, Manager of Retail Operations at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, Florida. Founded in 1942, the museum owns the original SUMMER and WISTERIA and holds the most comprehensive collection of Tiffany’s work in the world. “So these new panels,” she continues, “are an opportunity for people to have something that’s reminiscent of his work. They are pieces of art that endeavor to maintain the integrity of his work, of what he designed.”

“Visitors to the Morse Museum are wowed when they see Tiffany’s colors and the effect of light passing through the colored glass,” notes W. B. “Bill” Craver. “Now with these panels, visitors who see Tiffany’s works at the Morse can take home a little piece of their museum experience.”
