Fales is among the 142 managers chosen to receive the Ray Croc Award, a citation which honors excellent managers working in corporate and/or independently owned franchises. The award was named after McDonald's founder, Ray Kroc, and has been established since 1999.

The News Herald reports that Fales has worked as a crew member in McDonalds for 30 years; with an additional 10 as a manager in an Allen Park branch.
The citation comes with a package of rewards, including a trophy, cash prize, and a trip to Chicago to attend an awards gala hosted by none other than Mike Andres, McDonald's USA President.
