Though well equipped to deal with the manufacturing and shipping issues connected with their popular bedding line, Cushcins had no real experience in the creation of a digital product like this bedtime story e-book.
Company spokesperson Lauren Clark said, "the book series has been in the pipeline for some time now. Without cloud-based file sharing and teleconferencing the project would have never succeeded. There were definitely challenges but a lot of the initial bugs have been worked out, and the future volumes should get to market much easier."
The stories feature the companies popular Mini-King Pillow literally brought to life in colorful illustrations by children's animator Charmaine. The books are specifically designed to be short enough so the entire story can be enjoyed before bedtime. The company believes a good story should reward the child's agreement and cooperation at bedtime without interfering with or delaying the established sleep schedule.
"Author J. Karamel created a rough draft that included illustration notes. Charmaine would take those notes and create a story board for approval and then the finished illustrations which would be formatted with the edited story to create the final book. Though the concept is very simple, the logistics and back and forth to get everything just right can be time consuming" concluded Lauren.
