Go CUBE It™ Releases Its 10 Summer Travel Packing Tips

(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, February 10, 2014 ) Santa Clarita, California -- Go CUBE It™ makers of travel packing cubes rolls out its annual 10 Summer Travel Packing Tips aimed at easing the stress of travel during summer season. Planning ahead proactively will help assure a successful stress-free trip as well as following simple, actionable items like the ones listed below.

1. MAKE A PACKING PLAN. Make a list of the clothes you'll need for your trip. Do this days, or even weeks, ahead of your departure date if possible. This will give you plenty of time to add essential items to your list as you think of them.

2. VERIFY YOUR AIRLINE'S BAGGAGE POLICY IN ADVANCE. Different airlines have different policies regarding checked and carry-on luggage. Check the policies of your airline in advance so you won't be surprised by the fees.

3. TO ROLL OR TO FOLD? Is it more efficient and effective to roll or fold your clothes? In our opinion, and that of many other travel experts, rolling is superior. Tightly rolled clothes take up less space than folded clothes. And rolled clothes are less likely to crease deeply. Rolling works well with pants, skirts and sports shirts.

4. LEARN & FOLLOW THE 3-1-1 RULE. Each traveler is permitted one bag containing all liquids, aerosols and gels in his or her carry-on. "3" refers to the permitted limit of 3.4 ounces (100 ml) of these liquids, aerosols and gels. "1" refers to the one-quart clear, plastic, zip-lock bag in which these items must be placed. And the final "1" refers to the one bag per traveler limit. If in doubt, place your liquids in your checked luggage.

5. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE PERSONAL ITEM ALLOWED. Most airlines allow each passenger to bring a carry-on bag and a personal item onboard. The sizes allowed for personal items vary between airlines, but generally laptop bags, purses and small backpacks are allowed. In effect, this rule means you can carry a second small piece onboard, along with your allowed carry on.

6. WASH CLOTHES ON THE ROAD. If you wash and wear, you won't have to bring as many clothes. Inquire whether your destination offers free laundry facilities. If not, do your own laundry in the sink and hang your clothes to dry.

7. DUAL PURPOSE GARMENTS. When possible, opt for versatile clothing, such as pants that can turn into shorts for warm daytime use, then turn back into long pants for chilly nights.

8. DON'T PACK ITEMS YOU CAN BUY EASILY WHERE YOU'RE GOING. If you can buy it easily at a drugstore or convenience store, consider doing so at your destination. What you save by packing it may be offset by the cost of the extra luggage weight.

9. NEVER CHECK ESSENTIAL ITEMS. Make sure you carry on board any items you may need during travel, and any items you may need in the event your luggage is delayed (such as medications). Of course, your identification (including your passport for international travel) must always be accessible.

10. USE PACKING AIDS. Whether you're packing for three weeks or three months, your use of handy travel organizers will help you to arrive in style and will minimize the stress of travel. Zip up your clothes in travel packing cubes or clothes compressors to maximize your use of space and to keep your suitcase orderly.
