(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, July 23, 2013 ) Waterford, MI – The Waterford-Riverside Seventh-Day Adventist Church recently announced their annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) on August 5 thru August 9, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. This year’s theme will be “Antioch AD 49…Welcome to Paul’s World.” The VBS will be held in the gym of the Waterford Adventist School, attached to the church.
Church members and children in the area are eagerly looking forward to this VBS event. The gym will be transformed into a town, complete with stores, merchants and people in costume to show the children what early New Testament Bible times were like.
To kick off this year’s Vacation Bible School, the church will be presenting an interactive Bible Story hour on Saturday, July 27 and August 3, from 2pm – 3:30, in the church yard (weather permitting) or inside if it is too hot or raining.
The Bible Story on July 27th will be about the Battle at Jericho. Children will listen to the story and then join in marching around the city while the soldiers blow trumpets to bring the Walls of Jericho down, just like in the story in the Book of Joshua.
The Bible Story hour and Vacation Bible School are free for all children to attend and there are no church membership requirements. All are encouraged to come and church members are already praying for a great turnout!
