(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, July 22, 2013 ) Greensboro, NC -- Facebook has acquired a certain number of assets from startup business Monoidics, a moved aimed at bolstering the social network’s increasingly important array of mobile applications and software.
Monoidics, based in London, offers code verification software and quality assurance tools to analyze companies’ code by helping to remove bugs and other defects by using its own codes. For instance, Monoidics’ Infer Static Analyzer, is the company’s first advanced code analyzer that focuses directly on memory safety and security - something Facebook at recently been in hot water over when it was leaked that six million users’ personal information had been compromised.
In April, Facebook’s Platform was expanded significantly when the social network acquired Parse, a cloud service company that provides back-end infrastructure services to mobile app developers. Currently, 80 percent of the top-grossing iOS apps are integrated with Facebook using the system, and 70 percent of the top-grossing Android-based apps use the services as well.
During Facebook’s first-quarter earnings call in May, the company said its monthly active users increased by 54 percent (to 751 million).
