(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, October 17, 2012 ) Newark, NJ – The Prudential Center will host a major milestone in the music industry as it welcomes the Rolling Stones for the US leg of their anniversary concert series.
The timeless musical group announced earlier this year that they will have a total of four gigs as part of their 50th anniversary celebration. Two of the shows will be held in London, while the remaining two will be held near New York.
The New York based shows will be held on December 13 and 15, although exact times have not been announced. Both shows will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, which is close enough to give New Yorkers a chance to catch the epic rock and roll event live. The London based shows, on the other hand, will be held at the O2 Arena.
The British group is one of the most successful acts in the history of rock and roll. They are about to celebrate their 50th year in music by releasing a greatest hits compilation and staging four gigs. The album, on the other hand, will be entitled GRRR! and is scheduled for release in November.
Several months prior to the formal announcement of the gigs, rumors about a reunion back onstage for the members of the group flew around and was officially confirmed by guitarist Keith Richards in an official statement.
"Sorry to keep you all hanging around but the waiting is over. I've always said the best place for rock and roll is on the stage and the same is true for the Stones. I'm here with Mick, Charlie and Ronnie and everything is rocking. See you very soon!"
He was referring to the three other members of the group, namely Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts.
Despite the fact that the group is celebrating 50 long years in the business, organizers behind the gigs have hinted at an exciting high-tech show.
This will be the first tour for the Rolling Stones since they concluded their last world tour, A Bigger Bang, in August 2007. Thus, demand for the 2012 50th anniversary concert is expected to be high.
