(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, October 17, 2012 ) Florence, SC – Disney on Ice has announced a series of shows in South Carolina this coming November, and has chosen one of its most recent productions, ‘Worlds of Fantasy’.
Worlds of Fantasy debuted on the icy stage last August 21, 2008. Like other Disney on Ice shows, it exhibits fantastic skating, timeless Disney music, and equally timeless Disney stories. But unlike many shows that focus on Disney’s more veteran characters, Worlds of Fantasy looks in on the worlds of newer characters such as Lightning McQueen of Disney Pixar’s animated film Cars. The show features five Disney Fantasies, which also include Disney’s mainstay mermaid Ariel, Lion King’s Simba, Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa, and Woody, Buzz, and Jessie, who will be seen attempting their escape from the Sunnyside Daycare. The fifth Fantasy, which will be featured in the second act, will center on the Disney Fairies franchise and will see Tinker Bell try to save spring in Pixie Hollow.
Worlds of Fantasy also features a unique session not included in other Disney on Ice productions. This is a one-hour pre-show that centers around different Disney Princesses and gives Disney fans the chance to get up close and see the different gowns and mementos of Disney’s beauties.
Worlds of Fantasy is a memorable production for the Disney on Ice cast and crew as it was also the final show that Wayne Allwine did before he died in May 2009. Allwine was Mickey Mouse’s longtime voice actor and gave life to Mickey many times on the icy stage.
Worlds of Fantasy is now the only Disney on Ice show running during the last remaining months of the year. Rockin’ Ever After and Treasure Trove are also in full swing.
On November 1, however, South Carolina audiences, particularly those in Florence, will get the chance to watch the unique show, which is slated as one of the production’s best shows. Worlds of Fantasy will be at the Florence Civic Center in Florence from November 1 to 4 and will hold a total of six shows from Thursday to Sunday. After the Florence shows, the Disney on Ice gang will head over to North Charleston where they are scheduled to perform the same show at the North Charleston Coliseum from November 8 to November 11.
Worlds of Fantasy will not end there, though. It is also scheduled to move on to North Carolina for a series of shows at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro and at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville.
